Sustainable fashion design
Daily tons of second hand clothing are dumped onto the African continent. Because of this the clothing production sector in Uganda suffers from severe market distortion. As such most tailors are unable to compete against the prices of mass produced clothing fabricated in Asia. Therefore we spearhead sustainable fashion design and developed a separate collection based on recycled materials.
Up-cycling fashion design
In its flagship collection Elijah Mcquinn makes a bold statement against the lack of sustainability in the fashion sector. First we cut these second hand pieces apart. Then we reassemble the reusable features into brand new products. Ultimately the new products appear on the shelves again. In conclusion up-cycled designs demonstrate the principle of ecological and economic sustainability in its most fashionable form.
